Ron Cook: Penguins get exactly what they deserve -- an unwanted trip back to Philadelphia
This one felt a little different than the Game 2 home loss. The Penguins clearly were the better team than the Philadelphia Flyers that night, but, because of a variety of bad bounces and bad puck luck, they didn’t get the result they wanted in a 5-1 defeat. But Friday night? The Penguins got exactly what they deserved in a 4-2 loss at PPG Paints Arena, where they were 30-9-2 in the regular season and now are 1-2 in these playoffs. They didn’t play nearly well enough to eliminate the Flyers and are facing a dreaded trip back to Philadelphia Sunday afternoon for Game 6 because of it.

Ivan Nova strong in Pirates' 2-1 loss to Phillies
PHILADELPHIA — Before the Pirates’ 2-1 loss Friday to the Philadelphia Phillies, Clint Hurdle compared Ivan Nova with A.J. Burnett. When Burnett joined the Pirates for the 2012 season, he hadn’t really been an ace before, playing “second fiddle,” as Hurdle put it, to other pitchers on previous squads. Yet the Pirates saw an opportunity for Burnett to lead.
